The 2022-23 saw some great individual accomplishments as Tim Orr became the Dragons’ first NCAA D2 First Team All-American (D2CCA). He was named an All-American by all three outlets, including the NCBWA and ABCA (2nd Team). Orr was also named First Team All Region by each outlet and First Team All-Conference.
Griffin Stevens also had an exceptional season again, as he was named 2nd Team All Region by the D2CCA, NCBWA and the ABCA. He was also named first team all conference. He led the Dragons in Games Played (47), At-Bats (186), Hits (77) and Doubles (13).
4 more Dragon Hitters had outstanding efforts at the plate as well, each hitting over .300. Ben Bach hit .326 with 11 HRs, Hilario DeLaPaz hit .341, Logan Swonger hit .318 and Cal Brazier hit .305.
On the mound, Kyler Archual led the Dragons in innings with 62, Logan Fisher led the strikeout column with 61 in 45 innings and Ben Hubert led the Dragons in the win column with a record of 3-2. Gunnar Boehm had the lone complete game, hurling all 9 innings at Trevecca Nazarene, winning his last collegiate start 9-4.
The Dragons had another great semester in the classroom, as they finished with a 3.36 team GPA, the highest of any semester in program history. It marked the 22nd consecutive semester under Coach Wilkins with a team GPA above 3.0.
To continue to provide a first-class experience for the outstanding young men, we truly need your help! Please consider a one-time pledge or a recurring gift to our Championship Baseball Program and we will do our very best to make positive long-lasting memories for these guys and our baseball family. Thank you!
